California at risk.

The Gulf Coast states and their coastlines are being devastated by thousands of barrels of oil poisoning their coastal waters.  These damages wrought by oil companies will have long-lasting harms on all affected areas.

Now, California is under threat too.

Texas oil companies are pushing the Dirty Energy Proposition on California, which would repeal our landmark Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006.

The Dirty Energy Proposition would make us further reliant on unsafe, dirty energy sources like oil and coal, and kill thousands of jobs.

Yesterday, the campaign for the Proposition turned in enough signatures to put it on the November ballot. We must fight back now!

Pledge to oppose the Dirty Energy Proposition today!

The Proposition would stop our growing green economy in its tracks, worsen air pollution, and disproportionately harm communities of color and low-income communities.

And it would further expose us to the dangers of dirty energy that the Gulf is struggling with now.

Pungent oil fumes are hanging over New Orleans. Shrimpers and fishermen in the region's $2.4 billion seafood industry are wondering how they'll support their families. Meanwhile, the massive oil slick has grown 5 times larger than initially estimated, and shows no signs of stopping.

Make no mistake - dirty energy means profits for big energy companies, but pain for our communities. Valero Energy Corporation, one of the backers of the Dirty Energy Proposition, was ranked one of the worst toxic air polluters in the United States, and has done nothing to slow its Gulf Coast drilling in the wake of the disaster. Is this the kind of company we want determining California's future?

Please pledge to oppose the Dirty Energy Proposition.
