Toolkit for Residential Energy Efficiency Upgrade Programs

The energy efficiency programs of today will prove that we can achieve significant reductions in our energy usage as a nation while stimulating economic development and creating cleaner, healthier communities. These programs will generate the first standardized data about the benefits associated with efficient buildings. This data will inform the operators and residents of buildings about the value of investing in efficiency over time in terms of financial savings, comfort, and health. This in turn will impact the value associated with efficient buildings and help to create a viable market for energy efficiency, not reliant on subsidy.

Green For All’s Communities of Practice Program works to lift up the models and tools that practitioners use at the local level to inform the design and implementation of programs across the nation. We are honored to work with the country’s most innovative efficiency programs to accelerate and replicate best practices so that the next generation of programs can achieve greater results more efficiently.

Green For All created the following Toolkit for Residential Energy Efficiency Upgrade Programs so that existing and future energy efficiency programs my launch and scale programs that can deliver the full promise of the green economy. This Toolkit offers examples, tools and templates that a program manager might use to implement an aspect of their program, from generating demand, to reaching the largest consumer market possible through innovative finance mechanisms, to building job standards into programs that result in family supporting jobs.

Most of the tools listed on the following pages are strategies, RFPs, contracts and materials that other communities used within their own efficiency program.
