Alabama A&M

Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University is a public, historically black university, Land-grant university located in Normal, Madison County, Alabama. AAMU is a dynamic and progressive institution with a strong commitment to academic excellence. The serene, intimate campus is situated on "The Hill," only a short distance from downtown Huntsville, the site of the school's founding.

Nara McCray

Profile pictureNara McCray is a rising junior at Alabama A&M University pursuing a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science. She excels academically and has held executive positions in several campus organizations such as the NAACP, the Honors Program, and the Environmental Science Club. While maintaining her full academic scholarship at AAMU, she enjoys attending conferences and learning outside of the classroom. Opportunities like internships, such as the one she just completed in Grand Teton National Park, are helpful in her development as an individual and as a professional. Growing up in Anchorage, Alaska, Nara enjoys nature and hopes to have a career conserving and working outdoors.

Samjulien Carlisle

Profile pictureSamjulien Carlisle graduated from Calvin Coolidge HS in Washington DC. He is currently a junior psychology major at Alabama A&M University. He has a lifelong passion for soccer and played for the Alabama A&M soccer team during the 2009-2011 seasons. Being a former soccer captain, he understands the importance of teamwork, hard work and dedication. Samjulien is new to the environmental movement and excited about his new journey.
