Elizabeth City State University

Elizabeth City State University (ECSU) is a public, historically black college located in Elizabeth City, North Carolina, in the United States.

Through teaching, research, and community engagement, Elizabeth City State University provides a student-centered environment, delivered in a manner that enhances student learning, while preparing its graduates for leadership roles and lifelong learning. The university is also a leader in facilitating sustainable economic growth, while safeguarding the unique culture and natural resources of the region.

Ryan Lawrence

Profile pictureRyan Lawrence is a junior chemistry major at Elizabeth City State University (ECSU), located in Elizabeth City, NC. He is a researcher at the Center of Excellence for Remote Sensing Education and Research, where his focuses include water quality and glaciology. His memberships include: the American Geophysics Union, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Geosciences and Remote Sensing Society, ECSU's Green Council (Co-Founder and Vice President), and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., by way of the Beta Zeta Chapter where he serves as Vice President.

Courtney Strickland

Profile pictureCourtney Strickland is a junior marine biology major with a minor in Chemistry at Elizabeth City State University. She is also the founder and president of ECSU's Green Council and Director of Sustainability for CRC. She hopes to reach those that aren't fully aware of their potential. Going green just isn't a saying for her it's a life style and she plan to keep it that way! Through her dedication and motivation she hopes to reach others.
