Community of Practice Intern
Green For All seeks an intern to support the Community of Practice program with both administrative and program support. The Community of Practice connects people who are working on programs and policies to create green-collar jobs and pathways out of poverty. Through conference calls, discussion forums, and in-person convenings, members of the Community of Practice learn from each other, create new knowledge, and then share out the best practices, models, and resources.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Uploading new content to Community of Practice section of the Green For All website
- Support in responding to questions from community groups, labor, workforce development programs, educational institutions and others, and helping to link them to others in their area or region.
- Support in researching and writing reports related to city-scale retrofit programs and green pathways into prosperity.
- Entering contacts in the Green For All database.
- Helping to prepare case studies, power points and briefings.
Required skills and qualifications include:
- Strong oral communication skills
- Excellent research and writing skills
- Attention to detail and well organized
- Self-motivated, able to work with limited supervision
Desired skills and qualifications:
- An understanding of labor history and how unions work
- The ideal candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree and have experience interning or working for an organization or institution related to this work.
Location
This internship is based out of our office in Oakland, CA.
Hours and Compensation
A minimum of 15 hours per week is required for 2 months. This is a volunteer intern position and is uncompensated. A stipend may be available to highly qualified applicants working 20 hours or more per week.
