Position Title: Community of Practice Intern

Position located in our Oakland, California headquarters.

Position Summary:

Green For All is a national organization working to build an inclusive green economy strong enough to lift people out of poverty. We work in collaboration with the business, government, labor, and grassroots communities to create and implement programs that increase quality jobs and opportunities in green industry – all while holding the most vulnerable people at the center of our agenda.

Green For All’s Communities of Practice program connects practitioners to one another so that they may share ideas, foster innovation, and drive results across the country. The program brings together leaders with on-the-ground experience and national experts to shape and advance cutting-edge practices for growing an inclusive green economy.

The Communities of Practice Program is seeking an intern to support our programmatic work. An intern’s primary role will be supporting the working groups for two Communities of Practice: Retrofit America’s Cities and Green Pathways Out of Poverty. The ideal candidate will be flexible, proactive, and detail-oriented. Any intern applicant must be a strong writer and a skilled communicator.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Research and produce reports, policy briefs, and tools that the working group identifies as beneficial to the field.
  • Create case studies about programs and best practices that can serve as models for other programs.
  • Provide logistic and content support in the development of annual conferences, convenings and other meetings.
  • Take notes during Working Group meetings and disseminate to the group.
  • Write blogs and update the webpage to engage Community of Practice members and ensure their access to relevant information.
  • Update Community of Practice members about Green For All’s activity through social media such as facebook and twitter.
  • Additional administrative support may be required as necessary.

 

Qualifications:

  • High proficiency in internet based research
  • Excellent writing skills with correct English usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation
  • Ability to follow through with assignments within a timely manner
  • Attention to detail and a dedication to accuracy
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other common software
  • Resourceful, proactive, reliable, trustworthy, and assertive when necessary
  • Self-motivated

 

This position requires a minimum commitment of 8 hours per week for 3 months.

Compensation: This is an unpaid position.
