Green-Collar Cities

Green For All is working on change at the federal and state levels and simultaneously focusing on place-based efforts in cities and counties. We are supporting the development and implementation of green jobs policies and programs in communities and neighborhoods throughout the country.

At the same time, we're currently facilitating collaborations among practitioners and leaders in five cities and their respective counties—Seattle, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Newark, and Atlanta—to demonstrate pathways to green jobs at the local level.

Green For All considers five basic elements to be vital to a successful green-collar jobs program: job creation, job training, education, community engagement, and aligning existing policies and programs away from gray polluting priorities towards an inclusive green economy.

Our hope is that these green-collar cities will serve as laboratories for creating templates for local green jobs policies, programs, and actions that can be applied in and benefit other cities and counties.
