Development Intern

Green For All seeks a Development Intern to support a range of activities under the Director of Development, including: correspondence, grants management, donor research, gift processing and database administration, and event planning. This position will provide excellent experience to anyone interested in fundraising and development as a career.

Primary Responsibilities:

Development Administration

  • Provide administrative and advanced support to Development Director and the Development Associate in all aspects of development.
  • Draft and send acknowledgement to donors as needed.
  • Support special events/site visits; work collaboratively with Events Manager to manage mailings and coordinate event publicity.
  • Maintain data on our impact in Salesforce.
  • Attend Development Team/Committee meetings.

 

Donor Research and Cultivation

  • Identify and research potential foundation, corporate and individual donors.
  • Create donor profiles using online prospect research tools.
  • Identify and cultivate new and creative opportunities for financial support from all available areas.

Grants Management

  • Support grants management and grant-seeking by assisting in researching, preparing, and editing grant proposals; support writing of proposals when relevant
  • Maintain updated information on deadlines, requests pending, tracking status of all funding applications, progress reports due, personal connections and action items.

Communication

  • Assist with the development of key communication collateral (writing, editing and design), including periodic fundraising appeals, annual reports and newsletters.
  • Assist with direct mail appeals.
  • Provide verbal presentations to community groups, service groups, workplace giving fairs and special events as needed.

 

Desired skills and qualifications:

  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Highly organized; experienced in maintaining paper- and electronic-based office systems;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Resourceful, independent thinker with ability to problem-solve spontaneously and determine when an issue may require supervisor attention;
  • Strong MAC platform skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, online research and general familiarity with databases.
  • Experience with mail-merges and Salesforce a plus.

 

Compensation & Hours:

Part or Full time, depending on the most qualified candidate's availability. This is a volunteer position and is uncompensated. Commuting expenses to and from our office will be compensated.
