Youth Opportunities

With an eye ultimately toward Green Employment, what do you recommend as a plan of action and/or a training curriculum for High School age students? Are there any such programs up and running? Would you suggest that funds are available for such a program?

Sincerely

What opportunities exist for young people and adults who have spent time in jail and/or prison and want to restart their lives and contribute something positive to their former community?  Is a special non-profit organization needed to channel the energies of  people who need a second chance?  What is the best way to proceed?

Mr. Faulkner,

I saw your offer to work with a program in Va Beach, how about sharing with someone from Va Beach who is now running a nonprofit 501 (3)c public charity working in Las Vegas? I run a program that recycles and repurposes materials from the Convention Industry back into the community. Last year, Greener Vegas harvested almost 800,000 lbs of recycle materials from the cconvention industry, however as we have continued our program, we realized that an awful lot of materials created by the industry could be repurposed. I would like to share more information with you and see if this program would supply you with a unique opportunity to make a difference not just here in Las Vegas but on a perhaps national level. We have been requested to take this pilot program to other convention cities. Please take a look at our website www.greenervegas.org and contact me if you would like to share your expertise with us. I am grateful for your offer and respect your desire to contibute. I am Cynthia Stimple a class of '75 Graduate of Princess Anne High School and would like to speak with you further. Please feel free to call me at 702.426.7617

I thought the conference was very informative and educational. Cynthia
