NY Times letter touts Green/Clean Energy Corps

Authors: greenforallblogger Our partners at The Corps Network are moving a big idea in the national press. Here's an excerpt from a letter to the editor in today's New York Times:
A Green/Clean Energy Corps.... can dramatically reduce our energy use, especially by retrofitting the homes and buildings that account for roughly 40 percent of carbon emissions. In addition, through service to community and nation, these disconnected young people start on a pathway out of poverty and into family-sustaining jobs in the emerging green economy. This is already happening in youth service and conservation corps around the nation: in rural Montana, inner-city Baltimore, the Denver metro area, in Madison, Wis., and in Los Angeles.
