Nina Smith

Nina is a managing partner and Director of Media Relations at Megaphone Strategies, a social justice, public relations firm co-founded by Van Jones, CNN Commentator, President of Dream Corps, and co-founder of Green For All. Megaphone Strategies provides media relations services to Green For All. 
Prior to working at Megaphone Strategies, Nina served as communications director for a youth-focused research and advocacy non-profit called Young Invincibles, based in Washington, D.C. Nina has an extensive political and communications background. She built extensive intergovernmental, faith and constituency relationships for Prince George's County Executive Rushern Baker -- a county among the most affluent for African Americans in the U.S. Nina also served in the O’Malley-Brown Administration (from 2007 -2011), where she was Governor O’Malley’s chief spokeswoman during his second term (2014-2015). Additionally, Nina served as deputy press secretary in the Obama Administration at the U.S. Small Business Administration, and worked as publicist at the TheRoot.com. She's also worked as press secretary for the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Financial Services, under Ranking Committee Member, Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA). She is a proud graduate of Morgan State University.
