Life is Living San Francisco!

Authors: Rosa González, Education Director Green For All and Green the Block have partnered with YouthSpeaks at the Geneva Car Barn and Powerhouse in the launch of Life is Living San Francisco. The San Francisco edition of the celebrated Life is Living Festival is lauded as an intergenerational, eco-equity performance event that begins a year-long conversation and campaign focused on identifying the activities, people, and experiences that "sustain life" in the Excelsior District of San Francisco. Life is Living San Francisco models partnerships between diverse and underserved communities, green action agencies, local community groups, urban environmental activists, and the contemporary arts world. These partnerships serve as a bridge for Black, Brown, and Asian communities into the Green Movement. As we continue to keep it fresh with our summer campaign, Green For All's booth will be educating festival goers around water issues and sustainable water infrastructure as a solution. Activities include the Water Whiz trivia game a photo booth! Green For All Fellowship Alumni Ashara Ekundayo (Class 3), Zakiya Harris (Class 1) and Dave Room (Class 4) are all part of the organizing and creative team, and are working to increase and enhance the conversation on enviro-equity to local Bay Area communities and across the globe. Some of the featured Festival artists include; DJ QBert, Flipsyde, the Brave New Voices Youth Slam Team. The Festival will also be the venue for the final battle of the Bay's MC Olympics.
