Julie Koppen, Greenability
Greenability is Kansas City’s green magazine providing in-depth, local, news and events for those who have been making healthy environmental choices for years and for those just now looking for greener living ideas. Each issue is loaded with in-depth stories and resources on eco-friendly initiatives ranging from recycling, energy efficiency and local urban farming, to repurposing, renewable energy and green jobs. Greenability is printed on Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified recycled paper that is elemental chlorine free using 100% post-consumer waste for text paper and 60% post-consumer waste for cover. The paper is manufactured using biogas from decomposing landfill waste and printed with electricity that is offset by renewable energy credits. Greenability was recognized in 2012 with a national “Green America Better Paper Project” award for its sustainable paper use. It is also available online in a page-turning, interactive format. Greenability also supports the Greenability Job Network at www.greenabilityjobs.com.
