Online Green Job Training

Posted by Alan Cordova at July 07. 2009

I’m a founder of Green University, which delivers skill training for workers seeking jobs in sustainable construction and manufacturing sectors through an easy-to-use online platform.  We partner with national trade associations to teach the principles and practices of renewable energy and energy efficiency trades. Our courses prepare students to pass exams and receive certifications that will enable them to secure higher-paying work anywhere in the United States.  We will be working on a number of stimulus-related RFPs this summer, including the Pathways out of Poverty program, and are looking to serve as a subcontractor to community organizations, unions and workforce development agencies serving groups that have been historically underrepresented in the emerging ā€˜green’ sectors; by providing a low-cost training solution, we intend to address what experts predict will be a bottleneck of skilled labor.

I look forward to hearing from Green for All participants on Wednesday's conference call and exploring potential partnerships.

Best,

Alan Cordova
