This video is dope, very very powerful.

None of this is fear-mongering. It's real. Thank you for presenting the truth.

The message is clear. I have been out of work since last November after 20+ years in the Aerospace Industry. I have had to file bankruptcy, foreclose on my home, spend my entire retirement funds to pay my bills and now owe the IRS $15.000.00 with new fees and interest increasing each day with no money to pay the IRS.

When and how is the plan going to help people who have no jobs with unemployment running out and loosing their homes with no job prospects on the horizon? Are there green jobs for people like us to help the cause while helping ourselves rebuild the lives we have lost?

     For me, your comment stood out from all the rest because your predicament is so similar to mine, including the 20+ years of aerospace and the fact that our dates of last employ are only a month apart.

     The more I learn about the circumstances that put us into this mess, the more it seems obvious to me that the aerospace industry is in a position to make an incredibly great economic contribution if it would focus on the fact that it is the one and only industry capable of going elswhere for those non-replaceable resources that are dwindling on this planet. I can't think of a more efficient way to create jobs than for our space program to learn to stop coming back "empty" handed. I realize the devil is in the details, but I also realize that all we have and are, planet and all, ultimately came from somewhere else. Satellite TV, GPS, and better weather forecasting are great starts, but check out how we haven't even got zero-gee manufacturing going yet. If you think I'm onto something, I'm available for further discussion.

Mr Longo, your response really hit home with me, as such a precise message of; cause/ effect and problem/ solution. So many of our immediate American crises require long and complicated explanations, that even our most brilliant scientists, economists, investors, etc; can barely grasp and/or explain practical solutions. This issue is 3rd grade math: 1 (necessity of addressing world wide pollution)+ 2 (need for power)+ 3 (nearly 10% American unemployment)= win/win/win. However, the initial steps must be taken by investors. I live in the "Sunshine" state, and I don't know why we aren't seeing a frenzy of solar power component companies starting up. Factories could be completely self-powered. We have no state income tax, and a relatively low pay scale to entice entrepreneurs. We've learned about our vast wind resource potential, in the heartland; from T Boone Pickens. Not a tremendous response from investors. Is it that industrial giants have been pandering to the oil companies for so long; that they can't change gears? The need for green innovation and manufacturing; is a vastly under-tapped market. The current government would certainly reward builders and employers (of AMERICAN workers), with tax incentives; (only a miniscule tampering with the free market). Instead; China, India, and a few developing companies, are charging full speed ahead; building manufacturing plants of components for green based power. If America fails to wake up and smell the coffee; green energy will become just another thing we need from China.

Rasta been telling them long time. More farms less factories. More love more life.

I have found that the message of "Green Jobs" lacks the necessary recognition of the complexity of the problem with developing a new economy, especially with regard to funding the "development portion" of green projects. What am I talking about? Imagine that we are talking about building a highway and promoting highway jobs. We simply put pressure on our government to build more highways and we get new highway jobs. The problem with the energy industry is that it is a PRIVATE industry and not run by the government. It take entrepreneural people to go out and develop, plan, engineer, and finance, apply for grants, and pay for the projects before any jobs to "install solar panels, or upgrade a building can happen. Green for All should focus some of its attention to providing "project development" resources to entrepreneurs and provide project development and pre feasibility grants and other resources so that the projects can actually get off the ground. Making videos is nice, and its important to get the word out about what the problems are and what the future goals are but it seems that attention to the true "bottle-neck" clogging up the industry is not recognized or addressed understood dealt with. Keep this in mind when trying to develop green jobs. "Green Jobs follow Green project development" and normally the cost to develop a project is the same as what it costs to do the physical install.

Being a long-time environmentalist and earth activist, I'm glad that Green for All is working to spread the word about how individuals like ourselves can get involved in cleaning up our environment. However, I'm not sure that this spot achieved that intention.

I am sorry to say that I found it ineffectual, over-simplified and too long on the negative aspect of our current situation. Certainly, its much better than I could do, so of course, "Kudos" for the effort. Yet I would prefer to see an ad with a more concise "problem-- solution-- how you can get involved and help" type of directive.

I think the way to address Global Warming and Environmental Degradation is to educate, encourage and activate. Teach individuals directly how to make changes in their personal lives that affect positive change, guide people directly who to call and where to send emails to local, state and federal decision-makers and recruit them to join community organizations where they can make small contributions of time, money, work and ideas. Yes, the ad flashed some ugly and beautiful images, but it left me with no fire to get up and do anything! For this reason, I think it missed the mark. This comment is not to discourage any of those involved in making it, nor those witnessing, posting reading and getting involved herein. I believe there are many more opportunities for this organization to step up and hit the bullseye and that it can be done.

(Please do not misinterpret what I'm about to write as my own stance- I loved the video and I'm a huge supporter of a green economy)

I fear the video misses the bigger picture, that is, the picture that 'we' don't want to see. In this case, what we don't want to see is how the others see this issue. As a native of rural Pennsylvania, I know that my parents and family would not give this video more than one second before simply dismissing it. It isn't about the video (and message) being right or not, the issue I'd like you to understand is that this video is made for 'us,' i.e., the people that get 'it.'

Those that don't get it need a different message, namely one that they can understand (I still don't know what 'that' message is). While I think this video is great, I worry that those who don't acknowledge that we even have a problem are the ones we should be targeting with our message.

The battle that decides the war isn't between you and me, but rather between us and those that don't think we have any reason to fight.

Nice video...clear message, but the question is how will we do it! Bhutan is undergoing some serious changes, and I would like for us to reject the "old economy" and leap frog into the "new economy." I will add it to our Bridge To Bhutan blog as well.

A third Button?

I know that this is focused on the minority communities but it also happens in impoverished towns in our extreme rural areas as well. Pollution sees no boundaries with color, as does much of life. Great video for us to think about what we do in our community.

Thanks for this great video! It definitely captures how dirty our fossil fuel economy is and how green jobs can provide fulfilling work for those who have suffered under our current system.

Good first video! Education and awareness are the first steps here in this mess we all face. Great simple story will reach many people around the globe. Mass education is the key. Powerful video! However, do not neglect to get those people on board who have not been left out of the economy. We need them!

Well produced video- very compelling. However, the production of solar panels is very toxic and many of the metals that go into them need to be mined or come from conflict zones. We can't just move the pollution oversees, to poor Chinese or Indian towns where they manufacture these panels with little to no environmental oversight. Also, there are plans in place to install giant solar 'farms' all over the U.S., many of them on farms and ranches where people live. These rural areas lack the political voice to stop them, but they don't want to be surrounded by thousands of panels glaring at them all day. Green for All should take a position on solar 'farms', as well as some of the serious environmental impacts of giant wind 'farms', such as destroying birds of prey, carving up the landscape, ruining farmland, etc. Do we lift up one group of people while simultaneously tearing down another?

 The Florida State Conference NAACP will be hosting its 66th Annual State Convention this year. The Convention has been scheduled for September 17th through the 19th. It will take place at the Hyatt Regency Miami, located at 400 SE Second Avenue in Miami, Florida.

I'm relieved, I thought this was going to be a PSA for nuclear power! Just kidding... This should have also included LEDs, which stand to reduce electrical consumption by 20% all over the globe. To those who claim PV production is dirty, that's up to the manufacturer. It's possible to avoid the mistakes of the past.
