Statement of Green For All CEO Phaedra Ellis-Lamkins

We are pleased to see Anthony Foxx take the reigns of this important agency. As mayor of Charlotte, North Carolina, Secretary Foxx has worked to promote eco-friendly hybrid buses and community transit projects, including light rail and streetcar networks. Foxx has experienced first-hand how the right kind of transportation can help create healthy, thriving communities.

He has a strong track record of working on smart investments that promote clean transit and walkability, and that put people to work. He’s worked to ensure that transit projects benefit, not harm, surrounding neighborhoods.

We need to fix America’s transportation infrastructure, and we can create jobs in the process. We look forward to working with Secretary Foxx to make sure that as we invest in upgrading our roads, rails and bridges, we create good middle class jobs, especially in our most vulnerable communities.
