Position Title: Web Specialist
Reports To: Internet Director
Compensation: Full-time, Commensurate with experience. Excellent benefits package.


Position Summary

Green For All is seeking an experienced web and communications professional to join our Internet team. Successful candidates will have a proven track record in implementing and enhancing web technologies for a non-profit organization. The ideal candidate will be a savvy internet marketer with a passion for online activism, growing an online supporter base, and building online communities. They will have solid CRM and CMS expertise, be values driven, self-motivated, detail oriented, and resourceful.  They will also be able to work efficiently and with a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment that requires adaptability to shifting priorities, a keen sense of urgency, and a commitment to excellence.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Manage day-to-day operations of Green for All's web properties; keep the trains running on time
  • Administrate 3rd-party technology systems
  • Manage development of requirements, progress, and delivery of short and long-term projects related to site maintenance, enhancements, and new initiatives
  • Work with partners, third-party service providers, and vendors to maintain site standards and assure optimal performance of technology tools and website standards
  • Monitor and analyze site metrics, systems performance, and user activity
  • Act as on-site troubleshooter for website, providing technical assistance to internal and external users
  • Create and maintain systems documentation for information, training, and scalability purposes
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and new online developments; suggest and adopt relevant best practices whenever applicable
  • Provide technical management for online campaigns including site promotions, email newsletters, and online outreach campaigns
  • Coordinate with an integrated Communications team to implement effective web content in timely manner
  • Other duties as needed and assigned


Required Skills & Experience:

Web Design and Development


  • 3-5 years progressive experience in Web site design and development as well as managing content and/or production for high traffic websites. Ability to hand code in HTML and CSS
  • CMS - Proven hands-on experience in building, maintaining and enhancing websites using Drupal including a working knowledge of themes and PHP/MySQL (Plone experience a plus)
  • CRM - Experience with Democracy in Action or other CRM such as Convio, Kintera, or Blue State Digital
  • Database Management - Experience with database management including developing dynamic database-driven websites
  • Javacript - Working knowledge of implementing, debugging and enhancing Javascript/AJAX frameworks
  • Graphic Design – Proficiency in producing graphics for the web using Adobe Photoshop and Fireworks (Illustrator and InDesign experience a plus)


Online Communications & Marketing

  • Proficiency in best practices for email management, online fundraising, and advocacy systems
  • Demonstrated understanding of emerging online trends and technologies
  • Experience using "Web 2.0" tools
  • Experience with online communities and social networking platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, Flickr)
  • Experience with online marketing activities including tagging, online advertising, viral marketing, and search engine marketing and optimization


Other

  • Proven management experience in day-to-day site administration or design, including getting results through vendors or contractors
  • Proven ability to work independently, and also to build consensus and work effectively within a cross-departmental team
  • Ability to quickly learn new software/hardware systems
  • Ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects in a fast paced deadline-driven environment
  • Experience at a non-profit organization
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, technology, or related field.
