Position Summary

The Fade to Green Program Manager is directly responsible for implementing the Fade to Green Program, Green for All’s campaign for green awareness and economic development of the African American community. The program includes community organizing, external communications, interaction with the business community, youth programs, and strategizing around recovery funds.

Successful candidates will be values driven, self-motivated, detail oriented, resourceful, and have experience in politics, advocacy and organizing. They will be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment that requires adaptability to shifting priorities, a keen sense of urgency, and a commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and directing the Fade to Green Program.
  • Convening and maintaining groups of community members, local politicians, businessmen/women, youth, etc. in the Fade to Green Cities.
  • Tracking community awareness campaigns in the Fade to Green Cities.
  • Implementation of the Fade to Green Entrepreneurship Strategy
  • Managing mentorship programs, Historically Black Colleges and University contacts, and youth programs in the Fade to Green Cities
  • Working intimately with key Green for All departments (including—but not limited to—policy, program, and communications) to coordinate activity the Fade to Green cities.
  • Managing external organizational and media relationships.
  • Other duties as needed and assigned.


Experience & Qualifications

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year university (related degree preferable).
  • 3-5 years experience working in one or (preferably) more of the following areas: African American community organizing, energy, environment, economic development, labor relations, workforce development, and anti-poverty.
  • A history of developing and implementing successful community organizing campaigns.
  • Management skills and experience.
  • Success in working with different constituencies.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Availability to work long hours; be available on nights and weekends if necessary.
  • Organized and flexible.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Proven capacity to work independently and also to build consensus and work effectively within a cross-departmental team
  • Commitment to the goals of Green For All.
  • Experience at a non-profit public policy organization is a plus.
