Capital Access Program (CAP) Intern
Green For All seeks an intern to assist the Capital Access Program (CAP) with research, resource identification, and other programmatic responsibilities. CAP’s mission is to mobilize financial and social capital to help create, sustain, and scale green jobs. By educating entrepreneurs and supporting small business owners, CAP aims to build the capacity of these stakeholders so that our advocacy leads to real economic recovery and environmental restoration.

We work in collaboration with the business, government, labor, and grassroots communities to create and implement programs that increase quality jobs and opportunities in green industry – all while holding the most vulnerable people at the center of our agenda.
Green For All seeks a dynamic intern to assist the Capital Access Program (CAP) with research, resource identification, and other programmatic responsibilities. CAP's mission is to mobilize financial and social capital to help create, sustain, and scale green jobs. By educating entrepreneurs and supporting small business owners, CAP aims to build the capacity of these stakeholders so that our advocacy leads to real economic recovery and environmental restoration.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Identify organizations in target cities that provide entrepreneurship training, small business development support, complimentary consulting services, microloans, and community development venture capital
- Research information and opportunities available to entrepreneurs and small business owners that could be shared via our Twitter feed & other social media
- Conduct occasional research on relevant business models and/or sectors (e.g cooperatives, green IT, etc.)
- Assist with all aspects involved with the composition of the CAP newsletter
- Help maintain the CAP webpage, to ensure that it accurately reflects evolving programs, as well as updated profiles of entrepreneurs participating in the CAP Coaching Platform
- Assist with planning of CAP, including applicant screening, outreach, and communication, as well as logistical coordination
Note: Additional opportunities to conduct research and help produce reports, policy briefs, and tools in collaboration with other members of the Green For All staff will be made available to the intern.
Desired skills and qualifications include:
- Outstanding writing and internet-based research skills (as part of the interview process, we will request a writing sample, along with results from one web search request)
- Articulate and well-spoken
- Quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong, productive work ethic
- Ability to work with considerable autonomy
- The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field, plus a minimum of two years related experience. Consideration will be given toward those high-performing students who are still working toward their degree.
Location
The position is located in our Oakland, California headquarters.
Hours and Compensation
A minimum of 20 hours per week is required for three months. This is a volunteer position intern position and is generally uncompensated. Student work-study may be available.
